"Joie de Vie" Surrogacy is a company that was created by two sisters with a strong desire to help those in need of our services. Both my sister and I have extensive experience in the process of surrogacy. We have both been surrogate mothers and have presided on both sides of the process. Since this is an endeavor of two sisters, we would each like to begin with "our" story. Dakota

My name is Dakota Élan Rhodes; I am the Director and Owner of “Joie de Vie” Surrogacy and a nurse who specializes in Neonatal and Pediatric ICU. I have a BS in Healthcare Science and Administration and a Masters degree in Human Services. I began on the journey of surrogacy several years ago, when one of my sisters believed that she and her spouse were having difficulty conceiving and the question was posed to me by our mother whether I would consider carrying a child for them. Of course, my answer was yes- never the less; my services as a surrogate were not needed since my sister conceived on her own just one month later.

The entire situation caused me to research the surrogate process in detail and my husband and I determined that we would like to help others in need. As a result, my first surrogacy endeavor was undertaken and we were successful with the first fresh transfer attempt and delivered a healthy 6-pound bouncing baby boy.

Let me tell you a little bit about how I chose such a different name for our company. "Joie de Vie" Surrogacy first is a French rooted name meaning the joy of life! I chose this name for two reasons- the first being that children are just that, the joy of life! I am presently a mother of three wonderful children and I realize everyday the joy they bring me. Sure, they are not perfect and give me aches and drama as any teenager or toddler (since mine are all within that age range) should, but I would not trade in any of the experiences that we share on a day to day basis for anything or any amount of money in the world!

The second reason and perhaps the most special is it is a tribute to our mother because it is her first name - Joi and she too is the joy of my life. I could not be who I am today without her giving me the strength and the courage to continue to persevere and to pursue all of my dreams. Joie de Vie Surrogacy- Children are the Joy of Life!

Joel My name is Joél Russelland being a mother myself and having friends that are or were in this sensitive position that you may be in, sparked my need to want to help others in having a family. I have a wonderful boy and he is every star in the sky to me. I cannot imagine my life without my son and when one of my girlfriends thought she could not have children, we came up with the idea of me carrying for her. In the end, thankfully, she was able to conceive but seeing what she went through broke my heart. I felt if I could carry for her then I should use a gift I was given and help another family. My first surrogacy journey resulted in the delivery of two healthy 6lb twins. Though there were a few "bumps" in the road, I would not trade this experience for anything in the world.

My first transfer was not successful and although I did not feel like a failure, I was frustrated for my intended parents (IP's); they had already been through so much. Our second transfer was a success! The day I called her, we both hit the floor; I was jumping up and down in the store as I told her. People in that store looked at me as if I was nuts. I am very close with my IP's and I am so glad to share such an intimate part of myself with them. I definitely have I am in the medical field and have plans to further my education. Helping you achieve or complete your family is my passion from the bottom of my heart. Whether you are an IP or surrogate, I plan to make this as uneventful as I possibly can for you and I am here for you every step of the way.
