Fees
Below is a list of fees that are associated with surrogacy. Please keep in mind that you may incur these expenses regardless of whether you work with a professional program or elect to work independently with a surrogate mother. Please note that these costs will be fully discussed during your initial consultation.

Surrogates Fees

Base: Approximately $23,000 for first time surrogates is paid in installments beginning upon confirmation of pregnancy. Experienced surrogate mothers may receive $25,000 - $40,000 as their compensation. This is paid through the escrow.

Monthly Allowance: $200 - $400. Surrogate expense reimbursement for 15 months. Includes reimbursements for mileage fewer than 75 miles, lost wages (prior to pregnancy), telephone, fax, postage, FedEx, housekeeping, childcare, misc. expenses such as pregnancy kits, etc. Monthly allowance begins at contract signing continues until one month after birth (this is paid through escrow account).

Embryo Transfer: $750 - $1250per transfer; does not cover per diem ($50 per day), travel, mileage or hotel; depending upon employment status.

Maternity Clothing Allowance: $500 paid after 1st trimester ($800.00 if the surrogate mother is carrying multiples) - paid through escrow account.

Lost Wages: TBD, this reimbursement is only for working mothers and will be based on after tax wages and confirmed with pay stubs. Even if the surrogate mother does not work, the lost wages that her spouse or companion will need for accompanying her to things such as the transfer, will apply. All wages will be confirmed with pay stubs.

C-Section: $2500 (may vary). Surrogate shall receive this additional fee at the time of delivery if she is required to deliver via cesarean section, to help compensate for the additional pain and suffering, longer recovery time, and added risks. Paid to Surrogate through escrow account.

Loss Of Reproductive Capabilities: $2000- $5000 For loss of fallopian tubes $2000; loss of uterus $2000; loss of ovaries and/or complete hysterectomy $5000. Compensation for the loss or mutilation of surrogate's reproductive functions (if not covered by Life Insurance).

Multiples: $3,500 per additional child. The surrogate will receive this additional fee beginning on the 4th month of pregnancy this fee is paid through the escrow account. In some cases when a GS is carrying multiples, there will be added costs for medical expenses, lost wages, possible bed rest and housekeeping, if necessary.

Invasive Procedures: Surrogate shall receive $750 per procedure. These procedures include amniocentesis, DC for miscarriage, selective reduction or other prenatal diagnostic testing. The fee does not include lost wages for surrogate or her spouse (if needed), childcare, travel expenses. These fees are paid through the escrow account.

Mock Cycle/ Dropped Cycle: $400- $500 the mock cycle ($500) may be required by the clinic you have chosen. This cycle is to test the thickening of the uterine lining. A dropped cycle ($400) is when the medications have been started and cycle is canceled through no fault of surrogate. Paid through escrow account.

Travel Expenses: $50/day/per person this fee is needed only when travel is required for procedures. A spouse or companion will accompany the surrogate on these trips. IP's are responsible for airfare, hotel, lost wages and transportation to and from airport and clinic.

Breast Milk Pumping: $250/week. The exact fee will be agreed upon between the surrogate and the IP's. Surrogate determines the length of pumping and amount she will receive. IP's are responsible for pump rental, shipping supplies and shipping charges.

Childcare/ House Cleaning Services: $100/per service. This is separate from monthly allowance and is in the case of being on ordered bed rest for any procedure or part of pregnancy. House cleaner services are up to $100/week of bed rest and up to $100/day for childcare. The surrogate will have to supply receipts for reimbursement.

Additional Costs

Criminal Background Check: $250 (Non-refundable) $125 for surrogate and $125 for the couple. Fee paid by IP's to agency upon signing agency contract.

Escrow Account Set-Up: $700 - $1000 Maintain account, disperse compensation to surrogate and upon approval, other expenses such as medical or reimbursement for childcare. Includes bank set up fee and check writing fee $10/check. Paid to escrow Account Company.

Medical Expenses

Initial Screening: Approximately $1500 - $3000. This fee varies depending on the clinic you choose and is paid directly to the clinic. This is testing for the surrogate mother (includes social disease testing for surrogate and her spouse or companion, psychological and medical screening, genetic history, etc.) tested by a reproductive endocrinologist (RE).

Psychological Evaluation and MMPI: $450 - $2000 depending on what your clinics requirements are. In most cases there will be a MMPI personality profile test that is administered by the psychologist, then one session with the therapist for the surrogate and her spouse to determine her suitability, and one session with the IP's and therapist. These fees are paid directly to the Psychologist.

Psychological Counseling: Up to $1500/12 - 15 months approx. Counseling services are for both the couple and surrogate mother but are not always needed. You or the surrogates always have the option to use an outside therapist.These monthly sessions can be approximately $100/session. You may choose to use our contracted therapist for monthly sessions of approx. $40/session. These fees are paid directly to the Psychologist.

IVF Cycle: $8000 - $10,000. This cost will depend on which medical facility you work with. There may be additional costs if you use an egg/sperm donor. Most couples elect to pay the doctor directly for these services.

Insurance Expenses

Medical Insurance Premiums: Varies between $300 - $600/15 months. This is a minimum amount to be expected and is only paid if the GS has surrogacy exclusions or does not otherwise have insurance. Premiums paid directly to insurance provider. The surrogate will provide proof of insurance to include premium amount, policy number and carrier name.

Medical Co-Pays / Deductibles: To be determined. These fees will vary upon what insurance plan your surrogate has.

Life Insurance: Approx. $400/policy Life Insurance premium for accidental death coverage for GS, based on age and location of GS. Payment is for a $250,000 policy and is paid directly to insurance company.

Insurance For Unborn Child(ren): This is mainly for international IP's. Approximately $500/month for minimum of 10 months. In most cases, your own insurance will cover your child (ren). It will be the IP's responsibility to secure health insurance for your child (ren). An international IP will have to provide proof that your insurance will cover a child born outside the country. If not, let us know and we will put you in contact with a BUPA agent to get this in place. You will need to have insurance secured a month before transfer. Paid directly to the insurance company.

Attorney Fees

Intended Parents Representation: $1000 - $4000. Fees are paid by the IP's directly to the IP's attorney. Attorney will draft, review and negotiate on IP's behalf. Attorney will also ensure that documents with original signatures are reviewed from surrogate's attorney.

Surrogate Legal Representation: $350 - $1000. Fees are paid by the IP's directly to the surrogate's attorney. The attorney will review contract and negotiate changes on her behalf.

Court Filing Fee: $600 - $1000 this will vary on the county documents are filed in, and whether or not the surrogate is married. It will also depend on current court cost.

Surrogate Pleadings: $500 - $1000 Fees are paid by the IP's directly to the surrogate's attorney. Attorney files all documents with the court, explains to the surrogate about relinquishing her rights and explains the legal pleadings with establishing the IP's parental rights.

Parental Establishment and Court Pleadings: $1500 - $4000 Draft, review, obtains signatures and files with the court. Arranges court appearances or default judgments.



Agency Fees
We charge a small consultation fee of $250 to confer either in person or via phone. This fee must be paid in advance via check, bank wire or PayPal. Bank wires, will incur an additional service charge of $25; and $10 if paid via PayPal, these; additional service charges, will not go towards the agency fee, only the consultation fees, should you sign with the agency. This is a consultation and during this time we expect to advise you through the entire; surrogacy process and what will potentially be the most efficient course for you based on your expectations. It is our sincerest desire to embark on this Gestational surrogacy journey with you in a pleasant and timely manner.

Refund Policy
Agency fees are non-refundable.; If the Intended Parent/s match with a Surrogate and she decides not to go forward before the transfer has taken place; or if, during medical or psychological screening it is determined there is a problem that disqualifies her from becoming a Surrogate; "Joie de Vie" Surrogacy; will match the Intended Parent/s with another Surrogate at no additional charge.
